Engine or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (Windows) from your
computer, the Setup program may fail, and you may receive the following error
messages. Error message 1 Unable to determine system default collation. Error message 2 Fatal error during installation. This problem may occur when one of the following conditions is true:
MORE INFORMATIONMicrosoft Windows XP and Microsoft Windows Server 2003
include several new Windows locales that are not supported by the Microsoft SQL
Server 2000 collation mappings. Additionally, these Windows locales are not
supported by SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine and SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine
(Windows). The locales in the following table are not supported by SQL Server
