INTRODUCTION

You can install Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, ISA Server 2004, or Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway, Medium Business Edition on a computer that has only one network adapter installed. Typically, you use this configuration when the following conditions are true:
  • When ISA Server or Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway, Medium Business Edition is located in the internal corporate network or in a perimeter network.
  • Another firewall is located at the edge that connects and protects corporate resources from the Internet.

When ISA Server or Microsoft Forefront Threat Management Gateway, Medium Business Edition is installed on a computer that has a single network adapter, ISA Server supports the following scenarios:
  • Forward Web Proxy requests that use HTTP, Secure HTTP (HTTPS), or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for downloads
  • Cache Web content for use by clients on the corporate network
  • Web publishing to help protect published Web or FTP servers
  • Microsoft Outlook Web Access, ActiveSync, and remote procedure call (RPC) over HTTP publishing
