INTRODUCTION

You can install Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006 or ISA Server 2004 on a computer that has only one network adapter installed. Typically, you use this configuration when the following conditions are true:
When ISA Server is located in the internal corporate network or in a perimeter network.
Another firewall is located at the edge that connects and protects corporate resources from the Internet.

MORE INFORMATION

When ISA Server is installed on a computer that has a single network adapter, ISA Server supports the following scenarios:
Forward Web Proxy requests that use HTTP, Secure HTTP (HTTPS), or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) for downloads
Cache Web content for use by clients on the corporate network
Web publishing to help protect published Web or FTP servers
Microsoft Outlook Web Access, ActiveSync, and remote procedure call (RPC) over HTTP publishing
