HTTP compression support in ISA Server 2006

INTRODUCTION

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA) 2006 Enterprise Edition, ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, ISA Server 2004 Service Pack 2 for ISA Server 2004 Standard Edition and ISA Server 2004 Enterprise Edition support compressed HTTP content. Compressed content inspection can be applied to HTTP traffic that passes through an ISA Server web proxy bridge to or from a specified network or a network object.

HTTP compression is provided by the following Web filters in all the edtions of ISA Server thare are listed in the "Applies to" section:
Compression filter
This filter performs compression and decompression of HTTP requests and responses.
