INTRODUCTION

The most critical functions of a firewall are to react to an attack, to identify the source of the attack, and to restore regular network connectivity immediately.

Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 and ISA Server 2004 include a lockdown feature. When an event triggers the firewall service to shut down, ISA Server enters the lockdown mode.
