Packets are dropped when you use raw sockets and the IPPROTO_ICMP protocol flag in Windows 2000

SYMPTOMS

Winsock packets that are produced by using the SOCK_RAW type of socket and the IPPROTO_ICMP protocol flag may be dropped in Microsoft Windows 2000.

CAUSE

The problem occurs because of improper classification.
