Article ID: 839369 - Last Review: January 30, 2007 - Revision: 5.2 The OCR tool in Microsoft Office Document Imaging does not retain text format styles in WordSYMPTOMSWhen you use the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tool
that is available in Microsoft Office Document Imaging to copy text from a
paper document to a Microsoft Office Word document, the format of the text may change. For example, the font type, the
font size, and the alignment of the text may change. CAUSEThe OCR tool that is available in Office Document Imaging
may not recognize all text format styles that are present in the source
document image. Therefore, after you copy the text from a document image to a
Word document, you must manually format the
text. MORE INFORMATIONYou may be able to use third-party OCR software to retain
more of the text format styles that are present in the source document
image. Note As a Microsoft Office Document Imaging customer, you may be entitled to upgrade to ScanSoft's OmniPage Pro OCR software at a special price.
