Method 1- Use Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode to restore the shortcut

  1. Click Start, point to
Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Programs.

  2. In the Currently installed programs list, click Microsoft Office 2000, and then click
    Change/Remove.

    Next.

  4. In the Reinstall/Repair Microsoft Office 2000 window, click Repair errors in my Office installation, and then click to select the Restore my shortcuts check box.

  5. Click Finish.

  6. Click OK to complete the setup.

Method 2- Use the Office 2000 Detect and Repair option to restore the shortcut

  1. Start Office 2000.

  2. On the Help menu, click Detect and Repair.

  3. Click OK to complete the setup.

Method 3- Manually create a new shortcut

  1. In Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate, and then expand the following folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs

  2. In the right pane, right-click an empty area, point to
    New, and then click Shortcut.

  3. Click Browse.

  4. In the Browse For Folder dialog box, point to the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office folder, and then click the Office program executable file that you want to create the shortcut for. For example, if you are creating the shortcut for Microsoft Word, click WINWORD.EXE.

  5. Click OK, and then click
    Next.

  6. In the Type a name for this shortcut box, for example, type Microsoft Word, and then click
