Article ID: 839693 - Last Review: May 5, 2004 - Revision: 1.1 Three-dimensional screen savers may not appear correctly on computers that use multiple displays in Windows XP
SYMPTOMS When you configure your Windows XP-based computer to use
multiple displays, and one or more of the displays uses a screen resolution
that is greater than 1920 x 1440, some of the three-dimensional screen savers
do not appear correctly. You may experience one or more of the following
symptoms:
CAUSE This problem occurs because these screen savers gather the
size of each display and use the sizes to calculate the coordinates where they
can draw the shapes. When one or more of the displays is greater than 1920 x
1440, these calculations can cause the shapes to draw at coordinates that do
not appear on the displays. When this behavior occurs, the display is
blank. This problem does not occur on a computer that uses a single display, even at a very high resolution. STATUS
Microsoft is researching this problem and will post more information in this
article when the information becomes available.
