FIX: Server requests loop back to internal hosts by using NAT in Windows CE .NET 4.2

SYMPTOMS

You may have set up a local area network (LAN) to connect to external networks by using Network Address Translation (NAT). If a host on the LAN is exposed because of NAT port mapping, clients on the LAN may not be able to access the exposed host by using the external address.

For example, if NAT is configured to forward port 80 to internal host 192.168.1.2, that host is referenced externally by the address of the NAT router. External hosts that use that address are connected to the 192.168.1.2 host by using NAT. Internal hosts that use that address do not have their traffic forwarded by the NAT router.

Prerequisites

This update is supported only if all previously issued updates for this product have also been installed.

Restart requirement

After you install this update, you must perform a clean build of the whole operating system. To build the operating system, follow these steps:

On the Build menu, click Clean.
On the Build menu, click Build Platform.

You do not have to restart your computer after you apply this update.
