SQL Server 2000 hotfix update for
SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 and 3a
CAUSEWhen you install Exchange Server 2003, the Mapi32.dll file that is located in the System32 folder of the computer is updated to version 6.5.6944.0 from version 1.0.2536.0 or an earlier version. However, version 6.5.6944.0 of the Mapi32.dll file may not be compatible with MAPI functions such as the MAPILogon, MAPILogoff, and
MAPISendMail functions. This incompatibility causes problems to occur with SQL Server Agent mail. Note SQL Mail behaves as expected when you use version 6.5.6944 of the Mapi32.dll file.
