Article ID: 840015 - Last Review: February 2, 2007 - Revision: 2.4 How to recover databases that were created while using a trial version of Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition or Exchange 2000 Enterprise ServerOn This PageSUMMARYThis article discusses how to recover the data if a 120-day trial version of Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server expires. While the easiest way to overcome the problem is to install a licensed version of the appropriate Exchange Server software, there may be a situation where you may want to use the Standard Edition of Exchange Server 2003 or of Exchange Server 2000 instead of the Enterprise Edition. This article addresses when you may adopt that strategy, and it describes how to back up the database files, remove the trial version of the software from your computer, and reinstall Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, Standard Edition or Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, Standard Edition. INTRODUCTIONThe trial versions of Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise
Edition and Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server expire after 120 days. When the
trial version expires, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service
(Store.exe) quits, and you may see an event that is similar to the following in
the application event log: Event Type: Error This article discusses how to remove Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise Edition or Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server from your computer and then install and configure Exchange Server 2003 Standard Edition or Exchange 2000. MORE INFORMATIONIf a trial version of Exchange Server 2003 Enterprise
Edition or Exchange 2000 Enterprise Server expires, you can restore the
