You receive the "Setup failed to configure the server" error message when you try to install the Business Contact Manager add-in for Outlook 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install the Microsoft Business Contact Manager add-in for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003, the installation is not completed successfully, and you may receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Error 2835: Setup failed to configure the server, refer to the server error log and setup log for more information.
The following error message may also be recorded in the event viewer application log:
Setup has detected existing data/log files. Please make sure to delete/move the files before re-running setup

CAUSE

This issue occurs if previous Business Contact Manager installation information exists in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow the steps that are in the following procedures in the order that they are presented.
Rename the file that is in the Data folder to file_name.old. To do so:
1.Locate the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\ folder.
2.Right-click any files that are in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\Data\ folder, and then click Rename.
3.Change the file name extension of the file to .old.
4.Try to install the Business Contact Manager add-in for Outlook 2003.
Rename the Data folder. To do so:
1.Locate the :\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM\ folder.
2.Right-click the Data folder, and then click Rename.
3.Rename the folder to Data-old.
4.Try to install the Business Contact Manager add-in for Outlook 2003.
Rename the MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM folder. To do so:
1.Locate the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\ folder.
2.Right-click the MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM folder, and then click Rename.
3.Rename the folder to MSSQL$MICROSOFTBCM-old.
4.Try to install the Business Contact Manager add-in for Outlook 2003.
