INTRODUCTION

You can use Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 to install multiple server operating systems on a single computer by using virtual machines. Virtual Server 2005 is built with multithreaded services that are optimized for the Intel Architecture 32-bit (IA-32) hardware architecture.

This article lists the operating systems that Virtual Server 2005 can run on.

Note Microsoft provides support for running Virtual Server 2005 R2 on a Windows Vista-based computer or on a Windows XP-based computer in a non-production development or test environment.
