You receive the "0x80042611" error message when you try to add a Lotus Notes database as content for crawling in a server that is running SharePoint Portal Server 2003

When you try to add a Lotus Notes database as a content source to be crawled on a server that is running Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003, you may receive the following error message:

This problem was first fixed in a hotfix that is now contained in a service pack. If you installed the latest SharePoint Portal Server 2003 service pack, you do not have to install the hotfix.

How to configure time-outs for crawling Lotus Notes content sources

After you install this hotfix, you can configure the time-outs that SharePoint Portal Server 2003 needs so that it can crawl Lotus Notes content sources.

To configure the time-outs for crawling Lotus Notes content sources, follow these steps:

1. Log on to SharePoint Portal Server as an administrator.
2. Click Start, point to Run, and then type regedit.
3. Locate the following key in the registry:
   
   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\SharePoint Portal Server
4. If the value does not already exist, add a new DWORD value named NotesWizardScriptTimeout .
5. Specify a value for the NotesWizardScriptTimeout as the time in seconds for the time-out. (For example, you would enter 600 for a ten-minute timeout.)
   
   Note: The default time-out is five minutes (300 seconds).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Service Pack 2.
