Image may not appear as expected when you save an image in Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition and then view the image in a different image viewer

When you save an image in Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition and then view the image in a different image viewer, the image may not appear as expected.

This problem occurs if both of the following conditions are true:

• The image that you saved contains shadow effects.
• The image is saved in Macintosh Picture (PICT) format.

To work around this problem, save the image in Portable Network Graphics (PNG) format. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Start Office 2004 for the Mac Standard Edition, and then open the file that contains the image that you want to save.
2. CTRL+click the image that you want to save, and then click Save as Picture.
3. In the Format box, click Portable Network Graphics (PNG), and then click Save.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac Standard Edition.
