Method 1If no Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 computers are installed in the Active Directory forest, you must remove any versions of the ADC program that are earlier than the Exchange 2003 version from any computer where it is installed. Method 2If a version of the ADC program that is earlier than the Exchange 2003 version is installed in the Active Directory forest, you must upgrade the ADC program to the Exchange 2003 version. To do this:
Method 3If the error message in the Symptoms section refers to an Exchange computer that is no longer in production, you must use the ADSI Edit tool to remove any Active Directory objects that refer to the Exchange computer that is no longer in production. To do this, follow these steps.Warning If you use the ADSI Edit snap-in, the LDP utility, or any other LDAP version 3 client, and you incorrectly modify the attributes of Active Directory objects, you can cause serious problems. These problems may require you to reinstall Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, or both Windows and Exchange.
