This presentation discusses using Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) with Exchange Server 2003. Specific topics we will cover are VSS backup and restore and how the VSS components work with Exchange. We will touch on diagnostic logging and corresponding events, and what to consider when using VSS with Exchange 2003.

Kevin Clarke has worked with Microsoft in various capacities since 1999. With a background in hardware and in server operating systems, Kevin worked as a beta engineer, focusing on the core operating system for Windows XP. For the past two years, he has been working for Product Support Services (PSS) Enterprise Messaging Division, specializing in administration, disaster recovery, and migration of Exchange 5.5, Exchange 2000 Server, and Exchange Server 2003.
