Article ID: 842354 - Last Review: November 15, 2007 - Revision: 2.3 FIX: The Catalog DTS task does not bring over all products in virtual catalog and causes unknowns in a sales report in Commerce Server 2002
On This PageSYMPTOMSIn Microsoft Commerce Server 2002, you may notice that the product sales report shows sales that occur in an unknown category. This behavior occurs because the Catalog Data Transformation Services (DTS) task does not export all products in virtual catalogs to the Data Warehouse. This behavior causes unknowns to appear in the report if that product had been previously purchased. RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. Description of the standard terminology that is used to describe Microsoft software updates
You may also see products in an unknown category if a product was ordered from a virtual catalog and then was removed later from that virtual catalog. This hotfix will not prevent this behavior. To avoid this behavior, delete products from the base catalog instead of removing them from the virtual catalog. When you delete a product from a base catalog, the deletedproducts table is updated for the base catalog and for any virtual catalogs that the product belongs to. | Article Translations
