Article ID: 842445 - Last Review: May 27, 2005 - Revision: 1.3 A POST operation to an HTTP server may be unsuccessful if more than 16 KB of data is sentOn This PageSYMPTOMSWhen Microsoft Internet Explorer sends data to an HTTP server by using the POST method, Internet Explorer may not complete the operation if more than 16 kilobytes (KB) of data is sent. CAUSEInternet Explorer uses buffers that are 16 KB. When more than 16 KB of data is sent, the part of the packet that exceeds 16 KB is put in a second buffer. This second buffer may not be sent to the server because the calculation of the data incorrectly determines that the packet fits in the first buffer.
