Article ID: 842553 - Last Review: August 29, 2006 - Revision: 1.5 You receive the "One or more errors occurred in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate" error message when you add a Windows SharePoint Services Web site that uses SSL to a Project Web Access site that also uses SSLSUMMARYThis article describes an error message that you receive when you use Microsoft Project Web Access to add a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services Web site that uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to a Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 Web site that also uses SSL. Additionally, you receive a Security Alert dialog box on the screen when you log on to Project Web Access. This issue occurs if the certificate is not added to the trusted root certification authority or if the name of the certificate does not match the name of the Web site. To resolve this issue, either install the certificate or create a new certificate, depending on your situation. SYMPTOMSWhen you use Project Web Access 2003 to add a Windows
SharePoint Services Web site that uses SSL to your Project Server 2003 Web site
that also uses SSL, you receive the following error message: One or more errors occurred in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
certificate sent by the server running Windows SharePoint Services. Verify that
the SharePoint Central Administration URL and/or SharePoint Web server URL are
configured properly to support SSL.
CAUSEThis issue may occur if either of the following conditions
is true:
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, use one of the following methods,
depending on your situation: Method 1: Install the certificateIf the certificate is not added to the trusted root certification authority, install the certificate. To install the certificate, follow these steps:
Method 2: Create a new certificate that matches the name of the Web site that you want to viewIf the name of the certificate does not match the name of the Web site that you want to view, create a new certificate that matches the name of the Web site that you want to view.
