In Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003, you may experience the following symptoms:
CAUSEThis problem may occur when the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component processes an .mif file that contains the following text: The SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component cannot process the "unsupported" keyword as defined by the Desktop Management Task Force (DMTF). Therefore, the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component stops processing the .mif file that contains the unsupported keyword. Then, the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component moves the .mif file to the drive_letter:\Sms\Inboxes\Dataldr.box\Badmifs folder. RESOLUTIONService pack informationTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Systems Management Server 2003. STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Systems Management Server 2003 Service Pack 2. MORE INFORMATIONAfter you install this hotfix, the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component will ignore unsupported keywords that are contained in an .mif file. However, the SMS_INVENTORY_DATA_LOADER component will continue to process the other inventory information that is contained in the .mif file.
