INTRODUCTION

This article describes the proofing tools issue that is fixed in the Italian Proofing Tools Kit hotfix package for Office XP that is dated June 16, 2004.

Issues that are fixed by the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package, but it was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

When you try to check the spelling and the grammar in a Microsoft Office XP document, the Microsoft Office XP program may quit unexpectedly, and you receive the following error message:
Microsoft program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Note program is the name of the Office XP program where the error message occurred.

If you view the details of the error message, you receive an error signature similar to the following:

This issue may occur if the Office XP document contains Italian language text that is capitalized like the following example:
fino al 10 Dicembre. Riconsegna aeroporto Madrid
