You cannot install Virtual PC Additions on a guest PC in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac

SYMPTOMS

On a guest PC in Microsoft Virtual PC for Mac, when you click the Virtual PC Additions icon on the Virtual PC toolbar, and then you click Install Additions to install the Virtual PC Additions, the Virtual PC Additions are not installed.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Start the guest PC.
  2. Press and hold down the APPLE key, click the Virtual PC Additions icon on the Virtual PC toolbar, and then click Install Additions.
