SYMPTOMS

When you perform a search request operation to retrieve Active Directory directory service objects on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based domain controller, the names of the objects that have a distinguished name (also known as DN) that is longer than 128 characters appear to be reduced to 128 characters in the search result. For example, when you create a Trace Log to monitor Active Directory events, the names of the objects that have a distinguished name that is longer than 128 characters in Active Directory appear to be reduced to 128 characters in the log file.
