On This PageSYMPTOMSWhen you try to install a 32-bit program that uses Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) on your Microsoft Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition-based computer, the program may not install. Additionally, the 32-bit program that uses WMI may install, but the program may not work correctly. CAUSEThis problem may occur if the program that you try to install requires a registry subkey that is not present in Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition. The following registry subkey is not present in the 32-bit registry in Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise Edition: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\WBEM\Build RESOLUTIONHotfix informationA supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, contact Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.
