SYMPTOMS

On your Microsoft Windows XP-based computer that has Microsoft Client Service for NetWare installed, you receive an error message that is similar to the following error message:
Cannot copy <filename>. Cannot find specified path. Make sure you specified the correct path.
The error message occurs when you use the Cut command and the Paste command to move a file or a folder from one folder to another folder in the same Netware volume. However, you can do the following things:
  • You can use the Cut command and the Paste command to move a file or a folder from one folder to another folder in two different NetWare volumes.
  • You can copy a file or a folder from one folder to another folder regardless of the NetWare volumes.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. The dates and times for these files are listed in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). When you view the file information, it is converted to local time. To find the difference between UTC and local time, use the Time Zone tab in the Date and Time tool in Control Panel.
