SYMPTOMS

After you install security update 839645 (MS04-024), you may again experience symptoms that were addressed by hotfix 830411. For example, you may experience one or more of the following symptoms:

When you move your mouse pointer over a file that is located on a network share, the information that is displayed in the ToolTip may not be complete. For example, when the file is located on the local computer, the ToolTip may display the following categories:
- Type
- Author
- Title
- Subject
- Date Modified
- Size
When the same file is viewed from a remote computer, the ToolTip displays only the following three categories:
- Type
- Date Modified
- Size
If many users access the same file server at the same time, you may experience sharing violations or an increase in network traffic.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2.
