How to track historical costs for standard cost items in Microsoft Dynamics GP

INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Item Standard Cost Changes History Report feature that is included with Manufacturing in Microsoft Dynamics GP and in Microsoft Business Solutions - Great Plains. With this feature, you can view the history of cost changes for standard cost items.

The Item Standard Cost Changes History Report describes the historical cost changes. To print this report, click Reports, point to Manufacturing, point to Item Engineering, and then click Item Standard Cost Changes History.

To change costs, use one of the following methods:
  • Click Tools, point to Routines, point to Manufacturing, click Roll Up and Revalue, and then change the costs.
  • Click Cards, point to Manufacturing, point to Inventory, click Standard Cost Changes, and then change the costs.
Every time that you change the costs, Microsoft Dynamics GP adds records to the IC_Cost_Tracked_Changes table (CT00200). Microsoft Dynamics GP uses this table to print the Item Standard Cost Changes History Report.
