(These incoming requests are different from responses to requests that originate from the computer.) This default setting impacts how Group Policy Resultant Set of Policy (RSoP) is used across the network. When you install Windows XP SP2, you must enable certain Group Policy settings before you can remotely administer RSoP or remotely edit local Group Policy objects (GPOs). MORE INFORMATION
Because Windows Firewall is enabled by default in Windows XP SP2, you must specify Group Policy settings before you can remotely administer RSoP or remotely edit local GPOs. For example, you must enable specific policy settings if you want to perform any one of the following operations:
