SYMPTOMS

The Terminal Services service on the Windows Server 2003-based computer stops responding. Therefore, when you use the Remote Desktop Connection program to connect to the terminal server, you receive the following error message:

The RPC service is unavailable

Additionally, when you run the query session command on the terminal server, the query session command shows that several terminal sessions exist on the terminal server. However, when you use Task Manager on the terminal server, the terminal sessions only contain a csrss.exe process and a winlogon.exe process.
