Symptoms

You try to use the Netsh command-line tool in a script file to set option 043 on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. However, when you run the script file, you receive the following error message:
DHCP Server Scope Set OptionValue failed
For example, you receive this error message when you run a script file that resembles the following:
NETSH DHCP SERVER <DHCP server IP address> SCOPE <DHCP scope IP address> SET OptionValue 043
DWORD "01 04 31 41 50 43"

Resolution
