The Help window does not appear and you receive a warning message when you click Help on the Microsoft Office Online Web site

SYMPTOMS

When you visit the Microsoft Office Online Web site and then click the Help link that is located in the upper-right corner of the page, the Help window does not appear and you may receive the following warning message:

Did you notice the Information Bar?

The Information Bar alerts you when Internet Explorer blocks a pop-up window or file download that might not be safe. If a Web page does not display properly, look for the Information Bar (near the top of your browser).

Do not show this message again.

The following message is displayed on the Information Bar:

Pop-up blocked. To see this pop-up or additional options click here.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if the Microsoft Internet Explorer or the Windows Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker feature settings are set to High. This will block all pop-up windows that may be opened by a Web site.

Note Pop-up blocking functionality was introduced with the Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) product update.

Override the pop-up blocker

To override the pop-up blocker, press the CTRL key the same time that you click a link that opens a pop-up window.

Temporarily enable pop-up windows

To do this, follow these steps:
1.Click the Information Bar.
2.Click Temporarily Allow Pop-ups.
3.You receive the following message on the Information Bar:
Pop-ups temporarily allowed. To always allow pop-ups from this site, click here.
When you quit Internet Explorer 6.0, the temporary permission for pop-up windows will be removed, restoring the original settings for blocking pop-up windows.

Permanently enable pop-up windows on the Microsoft Office Online Web site

To permanently enable pop-up windows from the Microsoft Office Online Web site, add the Web site to the Allowed sites list in the Pop-up Blocker settings dialog box. To do this, follow these steps:
1.Click the Information Bar.
2.Click Always Allow Pop-ups from This Site.
3.You will be prompted with the following message:
Would you like to allow pop-ups from 'office.microsoft.com'?
4.Click Yes.
To remove the Microsoft Office Online Web site from the Allowed sites list, follow these steps:
1.Click Tools, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
2.In the Allowed sites list, click office.microsoft.com.
3.Click Remove.
4.Click Close.
