SYMPTOMS

When two pop-up windows appear at the same time in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Internet Explorer 6 may unexpectedly quit, and you may receive the following error message:
Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

RESOLUTION

Update information

To resolve this problem, install security update 867282 (MS05-014). For additional information about security update 867282, visit the following Microsoft Web sites:
