SYMPTOMS

Your Microsoft Windows 2000 Server-based computer crashes and you receive the following Stop error message:

STOP 0x0000001a (0x00041284, 0x797d6000, 0x000331ba, 0xc0881000)

This problem may occur if Physical Address Extensions (PAE) is enabled on your computer and you are running a PAE-aware program. If PAE is enabled, the virtual memory manager may split a page table entry (PTE) read operation into two unsynchronized 4-byte read operations. This split may cause PTE corruption to occur.
