When you try to perform an incremental update on a virtual dimension for a cube in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Analysis Services, cube processing fails and the MSSQLServerOLAPService service shuts down. Then, you may receive the following message in the Application log of the operating system:

Error 132 – Error during Commit, Server will restart to preserve data consistency.

Note The error occurs only when a virtual dimension is present.

WORKAROUND

To work around this bug, you can avoid the "Error 132" error message by changing the virtual dimension to a regular dimension.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 4.
