SYMPTOMS

You may experience a performance degradation issue when you try to compile and to run a C++ program in Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5.

CAUSE

This issue occurs when the C++ program uses one of the following during reading or during writing the floating point numbers:
  • ifstream with the >> operator
  • ofstream with the << operator
Note This issue does not occur in Windows Services for UNIX 3.0.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

Restart requirement

You must restart your computer to make sure that all the Portable Operating System Interface for UNIX (POSIX) processes use the updated Psxdll.dll file.

This hotfix does not replace any other hotfixes.
