Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry SYMPTOMSAfter you use the Ccmsetup.exe file to install Microsoft
Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 Advanced Client, and then you try to
install Microsoft SQL Server 2000 on the same computer, you receive the
following message: CAUSEThis issue occurs because the Ccmsetup.exe file creates the following file after SMS
2003 Advanced Client is successfully installed: %WINDIR%\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.reset The following registry key contains evidence of this file:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session
Manager\PendingFileRenameOperations
For example, the PendingFileRenameOperations subkey lists the following item in this scenario: \\??\D:\WINDOWS\system32\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.reset RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for
SMS 2003.

How to obtain the latest Systems Management Server 2003 service pack
WORKAROUNDIf the Ccmsetup.reset file is the only item that is listed
in the PendingFileRenameOperations registry subkey, you can safely delete both
this subkey and the Ccmsetup.reset file after the Advanced Client is
installed. Additionally, you do not have to restart the computer before you
install SQL Server 2000. Note If there are multiple items in the PendingFileRenameOperations registry key, we recommend that you restart your computer. STATUSMicrosoft
has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed
in the "Applies to" section. This problem was corrected in SMS 2003 Service Pack 1.
