FIX: You receive a "matching COMDAT symbol name not found" error message when you are running Windows Services for UNIX 3.5
SYMPTOMSYou are using Microsoft Windows Services for UNIX 3.5. When you compile and then link template classes that have static members that are declared inside the static functions, you may receive an error message that is similar to the following: collect2: ld terminated with signal 11 [Segmentation fault], core dumped /opt/gcc.3.3/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-interix3/3.3/../../../../i586-pc-interi x3/bin/ ld: Test.o (.data$_ZZN5Stabin/ld: main_test.o (.data$_ZZN5StackIdE16stackElementSizeEvE8var_size): matching COMDAT symbol name not found RESOLUTION A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. If the hotfix is available for download, there is a "Hotfix download available" section at the top of this Knowledge Base article. If this section does not appear, submit a request to Microsoft Customer Service and Support to obtain the hotfix.
