Microsoft has released a service pack for Microsoft Office OneNote 2003. This article includes information about how to obtain the service pack and about how to obtain a list of issues that the service pack fixes. Additionally, this article includes information about the issues that you may experience when you install the service pack and about how to determine whether the service pack is installed.
Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) contains significant security enhancements, stability improvements, and performance improvements. Some of the fixes that are included with OneNote 2003 SP2 were previously released in separate updates. OneNote 2003 SP2 combines the previously released fixes into one update.

List of issues that the service pack fixesOneNote 2003 SP2 fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base.
Notes are not published to a UNC location
When you publish your notes to a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) location, such as \\sharename\foldername, your notes are not published. Additionally, the .mht file is saved with a file size of 0 (zero) bytes.
The Stationery task pane does not open when you download a new template
When you download a new OneNote 2003 template from Microsoft Office Online, the New task pane opens. To use the new template that you downloaded, you must open the Stationery task pane. After you install this service pack, the Stationery task pane automatically opens when you download a new OneNote 2003 template.
The ActiveX download control is updated
This service pack updates the ActiveX download control that downloads new templates for OneNote 2003 from Microsoft Office Online.
