You cannot set the Folder Redirection policy setting on a Microsoft Windows XP SP2-based computer that also uses Group Policy settings to customize Microsoft Internet Explorer.

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:

1.	Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2.	Locate and then click the following registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\
3.	On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
4.	Type FEATURE_GPO_BRANDING_WITH_FOLDER_REDIRECTION_KB888254, and then press ENTER.
5.	Click FEATURE_GPO_BRANDING_WITH_FOLDER_REDIRECTION_KB888254.
6.	On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
7.	Type *, and then press ENTER.
8.	On the Edit menu, click Modify.
9.	Type 1, and then click OK.
10.	Quit Registry Editor.
11.	Restart the computer.

The new entry can have the values 0 and 1. A value of 1 enables the hotfix. A value of 0 disables the hotfix.

As an alternative to the previous steps, you can create a single DWORD entry named "*" and set it to 1. In this case, the fix will be enabled for all processes that are loading Iedkcs32.dll. You can also add the FEATURE_GPO_BRANDING_WITH_FOLDER_REDIRECTION_KB888254 registry subkey, the IEXPLORE.EXE entry, the EXPLORER.EXE entry, and the WINLOGON.EXE entry to the following registry keys:

•	HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl
•	HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl

However, you must use a String value instead of a DWORD value in step 6.
