The Powercfg.exe tool is included with the following
operating systems:
| • | Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) |
| • | Microsoft Windows Server 2003 |
The Powercfg.exe tool is not supported in Microsoft Windows
2000. This is true even though the version of Powercfg.exe that is included in
Windows Server 2003 may work in Windows 2000.
Additionally, the
version of Powercfg.exe that is included in Windows XP SP2 does not work in
Windows 2000.
You can use Powercfg.exe to access the settings in the
Power Options tool in Control Panel and to configure these settings from a
command line.
