SYMPTOMS

The Active Directory System Group Discovery discovery method in Microsoft Systems Management Server (SMS) 2003 does not work correctly. Specifically, you cannot use the Active Directory System Group Discovery discovery method to retrieve the additional Active Directory information about certain computers that are assigned to this Active Directory.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
