Issues that are fixed by this hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this SQL Server 2000 hotfix package:
  • Under some circumstances, changes to a SQL Server 2000 database are not replicated to some replicas in a merge replication topology. This state is known as non-convergence.

    The Merge Agent opens multiple connections between the publisher and subscribers when it merges changes across replicas. This problem may occur if the primary connection to the publisher is disconnected.

You must also have SQL Server 2000 Hotfix build 2000.80.977 installed.

Note You must apply this hotfix on all the following servers that are involved in the replication topology:
  • The publisher
  • The distributor
  • The subscriber
