Description of the Office 2000 post-Service Pack 3 hotfix package: November 24, 2004

This article describes the Microsoft Office 2000 issue that is fixed in the Office 2000 post-Service Pack 3 (SP3) hotfix package that is dated November 24, 2004.

Issues that are fixed by the hotfix package

The following issue is fixed in this hotfix package but was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

• When you check the spelling in a Microsoft Office 2000 document that contains Italian language text, the Office 2000 program may unexpectedly quit. Additionally, you receive an error message that is similar to the following error message:
  Microsoft program has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

  When you view the data in the error report, the report contains an error signature that is similar to the following error signature:

  Note In the error message, program is the name of the Office 2000 program that you received the error message in.

Hotfix information
