SYMPTOMS

When you use a Web application that is running on a Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer to read Microsoft Message Queuing public queues that are on a remote Windows Server 2003-based computer, you may receive the following error message:
Access denied.

Client does not have the required privileges to perform the operation.
Note This problem occurs even when the user has permissions to access the public queues and impersonation is enabled.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when impersonation is enabled on the Web application. Therefore, when the Message Queuing service impersonates the calling user to perform internal operations, permission is denied and you receive the error message.

This hotfix corrects the Message Queuing service to perform all internal operations without impersonation.

RESOLUTION

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
