SYMPTOMSIf you try to start the Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server (ISA) 2004 Control service, it does not start. Additionally, the following event is recorded in the System log: Event ID: 14192
CAUSEThis issue may occur if the Microsoft ISA Server Control service stops unexpectedly, and you have to restart it. Typically, this event does not occur because the Routing and Remote Access service does not start unless the Microsoft Firewall service starts. The Microsoft Firewall service does not start unless the ISA Server Control service is already running. Note The following information from event ID 14192 is incorrect: To fix this problem use ISA Server setup to reinstall ISA Server. RESOLUTIONTo resolve this issue, stop the Routing and Remote Access service, start the ISA Server Control service, and then restart the Routing and Remote Access service.
