You receive an error message when you try to accept an activity from a Microsoft CRM queue

SYMPTOMS

When you accept an activity from a queue in Microsoft CRM 1.2, you receive the following error message:
An error has occurred. For more information, contact your System Administrator. Error Code 0x80040216.
Although you receive this error message, you can accept the activity.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when another user accepts the activity and has ownership of that activity. However, your Web browser session still shows the activity as available because the session has not been updated. The problem occurs when you try to accept the activity that is already owned.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
