You receive a "The specified domain logon name already exists" error message when you go offline in the Microsoft CRM Sales for Outlook client

SYMPTOMS

Before you install the Microsoft CRM Feature Pack, you can go offline in the Sales for Outlook client. However, after you apply the Feature Pack, you may receive the following error message when you click OK in the Offline Configuration dialog box:
The specified domain logon name already exists
When you receive this error message, you cannot go offline.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of a duplicate entry in the SyncEntry table. When you take an account offline, and that same account is later shared through the online client, a duplicate entry is created in the SyncEntry table in preparation for the offline process. After you implement the Feature Pack updates, this duplicate entry causes the error to occur.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft Business Solutions CRM has a fix for this problem that is part of a cumulative update. The cumulative update information is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
