INTRODUCTION

This article describes the Visio 2003 issue that is fixed in the Visio 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated December 21, 2004.

Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to open a Visio 2003 drawing from a secure Web site (https://), the drawing opens without the stencils or the workspace, and you receive an error message for each stencil that is attached to the drawing. The error messages are similar to the following error message:
    Could not open https://name of computer/shared documents/name of stencil.vss
    This issue occurs if you try to open a Visio drawing by using any one of the following methods:
    • You click Open on the File menu in Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003.
    • You use a command-line argument.
    • You click Edit in Microsoft Office Visio to open the shared document from the Windows SharePoint Services site.
